The same day a number of reports were made from citizens in Russia claiming to have seen a UFO. As it turns out, both the UFO reports and bizarre clouds photographed from the ISS were linked to the same thing.
The Russian military reportedly conducted a secret missile test on Thursday. Col. Igor Yegorov, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense for Strategic Missile Troops, confirmed the launch.
Yegorov said:
The missile’s test warhead hit the notional target at the Sary-Shagan test site in Kazakhstan within the set accuracy.
Yegorov also noted that the launch is part of the test for a new warhead. Until Russia confirmed the secret missile launch, scientists and astronauts were unsure what caused the strange cloud formations. Neither NASA nor other commercial space agencies in Europe or Russia had announced launches for that day.
One of the photographs shows a wiggly white line in the Earth’s atmosphere believed to be caused by a mix of exhaust and water vapor from the missile passing through the atmosphere. The test reportedly involved a Topol/SS-25 missile. That missile is an intercontinental ballistic missile capable of delivering a nuclear weapon 6800 miles away.
