JaguarofficiallyunveiledthenewF-TypeRcoupeinJaguar officially unveiled the new F-Type R coupe in Los Angeles this week. The car is almost identical to the renders that surfaced in the unofficial preview back in May. The new F-Type R Coupe goes into the line along with the F-Type convertible and the F-Type S Coupe. The R coupe gets a supercharged V8 engine under the hood.
Jag says that the new R coupe will be making its global auto show debut today at the LA Auto Show. One of the best features of the R Coupe is its supercharged V8 engine. The engine produces 550 hp compared to the 340 hp the standard F-Type V6 offers and the 380hp offered in the F-Type S.
The F-Type V8 S offers 495 hp making the R Coupe significantly more powerful than the other cars in the series. Jaguar says that the R Coupe can sprint from 0 to 60mph in 4.0 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 186 mph.
The car will utilize a tweaked suspension giving the car more performance oriented handling than other models in the range. The F-Type R Coupe will hit dealerships in North America in the spring of 2014 starting at $99,000.
