Micromax X352 cell phone packs tablet-charging battery
0 Micromax has introduced an interesting -- and somewhat odd -- portable battery for keeping one's tablet alive on the go: a dumb phone called the X352, which is equipped with a larger-than-necessary battery meant to run the phone and charge a secondary slate.
The X352 is a candy bar-style phone that harkens back to 2004, complete with a 2.8-inch display with a 240 x 320 resolution and 65k color. The cell phone's other specs include a 0.3-megapixel rear camera and Bluetooth 2.0.
The part of the cell phone that is hailed is its disproportionately high battery, which has a capacity of 3000mAh. Given the cell phone's paltry specs, the battery could keep the handset powered for quite a while, particularly if Bluetooth and such was switched off.
That's not the purpose of the large battery, however -- Micromax says the cell phone is designed to work as a "power bank," charging a tablet or other device while on the go. How much the cell phone can contribute to a different device is another matter, begging the question of what one does when their phone is drained in order to charge a tablet.
